Platform 32623, also known as ol jack, nu jack, is the non-profit organization that makes up the majority of human power behind Boogie Loft. Our mission is to build platforms for dancers who engage with electronic dance music. Through performances, events, and film, we help promote dancers and provide avenues for them to perform and to connect with corporate sponsors and music producers and labels who want to collaborate for performances and music promotion.

Pete | Founder

Petr Barkine is a Montreal-based recording artist, DJ/producer behind DASA (Digital & Analog Studio Apparatus), a music production studio that epitomizes the synergy of digital and analog music production.

From a young age, Pete was immersed in the music scene. He began playing in bands at 14, ventured into music production at 19, and over the course of a decade, he explored a diverse range of musical styles. From psych rock to trap beats, from field recording to his recent pivot towards club-oriented dance music, his versatility is evident.

His distinctive tracks under the Dapapa moniker have been featured on labels like Moonshine and Beautiful. Collaboratively, he has worked with prominent artists such as Gayance, KALLITECHNIS, and Nate Husser. His music has been reimagined by remixers like Florentino, and he boasts production credits on a Juno-nominated album.

As a DJ, Dapapa has showcased his skills at many revered Montreal venues, including Le Salon Daome, Piknic Electronik, Sans Soleil, Système, and Le Mal Nécessaire.

In 2022, in collaboration with Lai, he founded Ol Jack, Nu Jack and launched a dancer-focused event series, Boogie Loft.

Lai | Founder

Lai is a nightlife veteran with a musical odyssey that travels through the annals of dance history spanning several decades. From grooving to 80’s Freestyle in New Jersey roller rinks, to immersing himself in the iconic US Midwest loft party and rave scene of the 90s, and later, gracing the superclubs of Washington DC during the 2000s, electronic dance music has been a constant through line in his life’s journey.

As a founder of Ol Jack, Nu Jack, Lai brings a legacy which includes the production of myriad events, experience working with top-tier artists, and a track record of constructing formidable teams from scratch. Beyond the dance floor, Lai is known for business and marketing strategy and is renowned for his technological prowess and constant evangelism of various open-source and peer-to-peer initiatives.

Shash’U | Director

The singer-songwriter-DJ and director Shash’U is one of the best-kept secrets in the province. A true pioneer of Montreal’s “beat” scene, Shash’U is one of Montreal’s major representatives abroad. Thanks to his presence in the world of street dance, his collaborations with Montreal’s A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold label, and his numerous tours around the world, Shash’U is the artist with the greatest international reach of Joy Ride Records label. While making cyphers dance at Boiler Room, Low End Theory, Summer Dance Forever, Juste Debout, Red Bull Dance Your Style, Shash’U composed soundtracks for presentations by Ebnfloh, La Tresse, Bboyizm, and FRGMNT. He is currently seeking a comeback in the world of street dance by producing a series of EPs for dancers, in addition to working on his first French-language album.

Mickey | Director

Mickey Rizk is a multifaceted local entrepreneur with an impressive track record in the hospitality sector. Not only has he owned and consulted for restaurants and bars, but he also stands out as a competitive cocktail champion. Notably, during his tenure as the General Manager of Bar Le Mal Nécessaire, it was shortlisted for the top 10 “Best High Volume Cocktail Bar – The Americas” by Tales of the Cocktail.

Beyond his management roles, Mickey is a trailblazer in waste reduction, receiving recognition in a Vice feature for his innovative efforts. He honed his expertise at renowned establishments such as Bar Le Mal Nécessaire, Cloakroom, Subois, and Bremner, eventually co-owning Bar Pamplemousse.

With his vast experience in bar management, strong brand relationships, relentless drive, and stellar reputation, Mickey is an invaluable addition to the board.

Aditi | Director

Holding an extensive acumen in brand strategy, PR, media, and project management, Aditi has crafted compelling PR narratives, executed 360 marketing campaigns, and managed events. Her fervor lies in the vibrant world of entertainment, where she excels at connecting people with recent trends and innovations.
